Connect students with mentors
Training the next generation of visual communications professionals is a team effort, especially in the rapidly evolving media landscape where designers and graphics reporters are expected to work across multiple platforms and new devices that require design and visual content are popping up all the time. Likewise, although most viscom educators incorporate regular critiques, portfolio reviews and mentoring in student media and classes, it's increasingly important that students get feedback about their work and professional growth from as many different perspectives as possible. So, SND would like to add to the list of ways students can connect with professionals by offering a mentoring program with a formal list of requirements for mentors and mentees that will lead to a rich, inspiring and beneficial relationships.
